Why is a Letter of Good Standing needed to apply for tenders?

COIDA Registration is a requirement for ALL employers.

The “Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act” or “COID Act” states that all South African persons (individuals / companies) who employ one or more employees, in connection with their business / farming activities, organisation / association / trust are under the scrutiny of the COID Act. Employees will be covered for injuries whilst on duty.

If an employer is registered with the Compensation Fund as per section 80 of the COID Act, he / she can apply for a Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Fund. This letter states that there is no outstanding claims / debt on his / her Compensation Fund record.
