Start small…and it will eventually end big…
Meet Max Mqadi, entrepreneur and owner of Max’s Lifestyle Village in Umlazi, Durban. From a one-room shack near a stream built in front of a taxi rank in 2002, Mqadi grew his business into one of Durban’s most popular hangouts. Max Mqadi’s first foray into the world of business was in the trains travelling between Umlazi and Berea stations, where, as a matric pupil, he sold Golden Delicious apples to commuters for 50c. Mqadi tried his hand at various businesses, including a photo lab, butchery and a driving school that sponsored a second-division soccer team. The driving school, which had six branches in KwaZulu-Natal and 36 vehicles. Max’s Lifestyle Village, was named among 207 of the best restaurants in the world in 2016.
The lounge has become a major draw card for township tourism in Durban. Salutations to Entrepreneurs Arena Hero and Beyonder, Max Mqadi🏅🏅. Entrepreneurs Arena is about Celebrating, Promoting and Advancing the Spirit of Entrepreneurship.
